Ece Hakim is a Turkish actor, writer and producer. Hakim started her professional acting career with the critically acclaimed movie 'Anlat Istanbul' in 2004. After gaining national recognition as a child actor for starring as Naz in Yagmur Zamani, Hakim has starred in Turkey's most-watched series such as Avrupa Yakasi, Eskiya Dunyaya Hukumdar Olmaz and the Turkish adaptation of Desperate Housewives, Umutsuz Ev Kadinlari.
In 2018, Hakim moved to the United States. She has performed in various plays such as Company ONE and American Repertory Theatre co-production Greater Good, Magda Fertacz's Absinthe, Sophocles' Electra and David Henry Hwang's M. Butterfly - for which she had the chance to work with BD Wong. Electra went on an international tour in 2019, and Hakim performed the play in Istanbul, Berlin, and London.
Currently, she is located in LA where she is working as the founder and creative director of Play Hard Play Hard – a multicultural art initiative that brings together political theatre and cultural music from the Middle East and North Africa. PHPH premiered in February of 2022 with a sold-out performance of “White Rabbit Red Rabbit” by Nassim Soleimapour.
